while we understand that it’s time to be appreciating the cool, crisp temps, brilliantly bright fall skies and bursting colors of the foliage, certain summer memories just won’t fade fast… like watching the america’s cup AC45’s racing through the bay from fort adams, the stunning, chromatic display of vintage long and short boards on the cliff at rough point’s surf fest, and newportFILM’s magical evening with the kennedys.

on july 20th we were lucky to have director rory kennedy, her charismatic cousin teddy kennedy and her mother ethel at the jane pickens theater for a screening of rory’s new documentary-style love letter to her mother, aptly titled ETHEL. holding true to the kennedy reputation, these three from hyannisport were funny, candid, gracious and warm. newportFILM and the hundreds that filled the theater that night know they were privvy to a very special evening.

if you missed the magic that we’re gushing about, you can watch our little clip (above) of the post-screening conversation between rory and teddy and/or you can turn on HBO TOMORROW, october 18 at 9pm and watch the whole wonderfully intimate documentary yourself! http://www.hbo.com/#/documentaries/ethel set your DVR or mark a date night in indelible ink. a box of tissues is strongly recommended.
