A one-in-a-million night! hundreds of baseball lovers came out to see the celebrated, pre-release documentary, ‘knuckleball!’, about the most famous knuckleball pitchers in history, AND they got to see one of them in person. legendary red sox pitcher, tim wakefield, traveled to newport in support of our event. generously sponsored by HORAN BUILDING COMPANY, the evening began with a pitching clinic at the international tennis hall of fame with tim wakefield and newport gulls players for some lucky newport gulls camp kids. later on guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the back porch of the casino theater, followed by film and q&a with tim wakefield, writer/producer christine schomer (and newportFILM board member) & director ricki stern. photo credit: hilary bovay photography
