Even an unseasonably cold november night didn’t stop the crowd from coming out to the casino theatre to watch the political antics of CAPE SPIN! AN AMERICAN POWER STRUGGLE. CAPE SPIN!, part of our environmentally conscious green screen program, was newportFILM’s 2012 season closer, and a highly entertaining one it was!

we extend a big thank you to the film’s director john kirby & producer libby handers who drove round-trip from NYC for the post-film Q&A and also to jennifer mccann from uri’s coastal resources center and and grover fugate from ri’s coastal resources management council for helping to relate the film’s wind-power subject to our ‘lil rhody.

we can’t forget to mention that event was generously ‘greened’ by people’s power & light, a non-profit organization that matched the energy used for the screening with clean, local, renewable energy. how awesome is that?
