newportFILM Brand Ambassador – Part Time (Summer Seasonal)
Job Description
newportFILM is building a team of Brand Ambassadors to represent the organization throughout the 2026 newportFILM Outdoors season. This is a highly guest-facing role ideal for someone who loves meeting new people, telling a great story, and helping create memorable experiences. They will engage directly with community members, promote upcoming screenings and events, and help grow our audience and membership by sharing the newportFILM mission. This role blends community outreach, event hospitality, and grassroots promotion, and is perfect for someone interested in film, the non-profit space, and event production.
Responsibilities
Community Outreach & Grassroots Promotion
- Staff the newportFILM table at local farmers markets and community events
- Engage the public in conversation about upcoming screenings and programs
- Share information about memberships, events, and the organization’s mission
- Distribute flyers and promotional materials around Newport and Aquidneck Island
- Identify opportunities for grassroots promotion within the community
Event Guest Experience
- Serve as a welcoming front-of-house presence at outdoor screenings
- Greet guests, answer questions, and provide information about the event
- Assist with guest flow, merch sales, and general audience hospitality
- Learn the newportFILM story, mission, and programming
- Confidently speak about upcoming films, events, and membership opportunities
- Represent the organization with professionalism and enthusiasm
About You
The Ideal candidate for Brand Ambassador is outgoing, friendly, and comfortable speaking with strangers. You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, are reliable, organized, and self-motivated. This person should have a passion for community, arts, and documentary film. You must be comfortable working outdoors and in busy public environments. Experience in events and familiarity with Aquidneck Island is preferred but not required.
Location, Dates, and Hours
In-person, Newport, RI. The summer outdoor festival is located on the beautiful Aquidneck Island, locations for each screening event change weekly. newportFILM does not provide housing or transportation. This temporary position is in person from June – August 2026. Hours approximately 12-15 hours per week. Every WEDNESDAY, and THURSDAY afternoon availability is required.
