Sports T-Rex follows the true story of Claressa “T-Rex” Shields as she tries to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics where women’s boxing will make its Olympic debut. Boxing is Claressa’s ticket to take her and her family out of the tough neighborhoods of Flint, Michigan. Weaving Claressa’s story of fighting for gold with her family and her relationship with her coach Jason Crutchfield, T-Rex offers a contemporary look at a fiercely independent hero.
