A story following a young man with autism who used Disney films to gain his independence and connect with the world again was shown on St. Michael’s Country Day School lawn to a family-focused audience.

A documentary that opened the door to a discussion of America’s war with ISIS was shown at the Redwood Library and Athenæum Lawn followed by a conversation with a co- writer and a director from the Naval War College in Newport.

3.) Bill Cunningham: New York

This film was shown on the lawn at Oceancliff resort overlooking Narragansett bay as a tribute to the legendary street style photographer, Bill Cunningham. Our annual picnic contest was held and guests were encouraged to wear blue in homage to Bill’s signature blue workman’s jacket.

BILL CUNNINGHAM: NEW YORK chronicles a man who is obsessively interested in only one thing—the pictures he takes that document the way people dress. Bill has lived in the same small studio above Carnegie Hall for fifty years, never eats in restaurants and gets around on a worn-out bicycle—his sole means of transportation. This film was shown outdoors at the local Newport International Polo Grounds and took an in depth look at an extremely talented horse jockey who is facing retirement but still ready to give up everything to in order be the best.

5) Norman Lear: Just Another Version of You

NORMAN LEAR: JUST ANOTHER VERSION OF YOU was shown in Queen Anne Square and took in an depth look into the life of Norman Lear, the man behind popular sitcoms such as All In The Family, The Jeffersons, and Good Times.
